Process
How content removal works
From intake to ongoing monitoring: what happens at each step, what we need from you and how long it takes.
Start your case
Fill in the online intake and describe what happened and where you have seen your content. You don't need to upload ID or make a phone call. A Leakserv agent then reviews your case and activates your account.
We search for your content
We scan search engines, social media, adult sites, forums, file hosts and other platforms for your photos and videos. In the Large plan we also run facial recognition searches. You don't need to know where your content is posted; links you already have help us prioritise.
We file takedown requests
For every match we file a takedown request directly with the platform's trust and safety team, based on its own policies, the DMCA or privacy law such as the GDPR. Requests go out as soon as content is found, and we follow up when a platform does not respond. From the Medium plan, the number of requests is unlimited.
The content comes down
Most platforms remove content within 24 to 72 hours of a request. Major platforms such as Google, Meta, Reddit and X usually act faster; smaller forums, image hosts and cyberlockers can take longer. If your plan includes it, we also have search results delisted from search engines.
We keep monitoring
Removed content can be re-uploaded to the same or other sites. We keep scanning 24/7 for as long as your plan runs, so new uploads are found and taken down before they spread further.
You see every result
You receive a report by email every week and can follow progress in your personal dashboard at any time. The report lists every site we checked, every request we filed and every confirmed removal, with the specific URLs.
